The Ashura Day In the year 680 A.C, in the course of the struggles for power over the Islam world, Hz. Ali’s son Imam Hussein and his entourage were massacred in Kerbela, by the followers of Muaviye’s son and heir Yezid. The day of the massacre is called the Ashura Day. Every year on that day, Caferis come together and mourn for the dead. |
